The Gulf of Mexico is renamed:reasons of changing
Donald Trump decided to change the name of The Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America. He announced he renamed the Gulf of Mexico into the Gulf of America. Basically, there are many diverges on Mexicans and Americans that what they’ll be called the river? Which borders on Texas and Mexican states. The Americans call it “The Rio Grand” rather the Mexicans call it “Rio Bravo” so that’s why Trump has decided to give it a proper name.It has not yet been decided when its name will be changed.
Can only Trump change the name?
This might be possible, but it’s not a unilateral decision, and other countries need to agree as well.
The International Hydrographic Organization — of which both the United States and Mexico are members — works to ensure that all the world’s oceans, seas, and navigable waters are uniformly surveyed and charted, and that some of them are named. There are instances where countries refer to the same body of water or landmark by different names in their respective documents.
This process can be simpler when a landmark or body of water lies within the borders of a single country. For example, in 2015, then-President Barack Obama approved an order by the Department of the Interior to rename North America’s highest peak, Mount McKinley, to Denali, a move that former President Trump also mentioned he might reverse.
Shortly after Trump’s comments on Tuesday, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia stated during an interview with podcaster Benny Johnson that she would instruct her staff to draft legislation to rename the Gulf of Mexico. She added that the funding for new maps and administrative policy materials for the federal government would be accounted for under this initiative.
The denotation of Donald Trump’s statement about renaming the Gulf of Mexico
The newly elected President Donald Trump stated on Tuesday that he would attempt to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the “Gulf of America,” which he believes has a “beautiful ring” to it.
Redrawing the map of the Western Hemisphere is his latest proposal. Trump has repeatedly referred to Canada as the “51st state,” urged Denmark to consider relinquishing Greenland, and demanded Panama return control of the Panama Canal.
